Family Life Pastor - Student & Discipleship

Genesis Church is a multigenerational mid-sized church located on the coast of Alabama in one of the most desired places to live in the southeast. In November of 2018, Genesis Church was replanted with a strong vision to become a life giving church that leads people to take their next step with Jesus locally, regionally, and globally. They believe life change happens when people know God, love people, make a difference, and grow deeper. Genesis Church is emerging from COVID with great hope and excitement for what is next. The Family Life Pastor will have the opportunity to help shape the future, work with an amazing team, and make an eternal difference.  

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The person who becomes the Family Life Pastor at Genesis Church is stepping into a role and area full of potential! They will be responsible for leading our student ministry, overseeing small groups, and helping our church engage in three corporate serve days each year. 

.: Student Ministry 

• Develop and lead our middle and high school student ministry. 
• Create life giving large group and small group settings for students to know God, love people, make difference and grow deeper. 
• Invest in relationships with local schools to build a bridge to increased ministry opportunities. 
• Empower parents to lead their middle and high schoolers to take their next step with Jesus. 
• Engage students in a culture of serving both on Sunday gatherings and throughout the year.

.: Small Groups

• Lead our church to create a greater network and life giving community of small groups based on our simple church strategy. 
• Develop a small group leadership team that is empowered to invest in small group leaders, assist people discovering groups to get connected, and empowering groups to serve during our quarterly serve days. 

.: Serve Days 

• Lead our church to engage in three to four corporate serve days throughout the year to make a difference in our community. 
• Develop a serve day leadership team that discovers new projects, encourages people to serve, provides on the ground leadership, captures stories, and more.
