About the Position:
The Worship and Music Pastor shall seek to fulfill the Biblical mandate in Ephesians 4:11-12 for equipping the saints for the work of service through worship and music to the building up of the body of Christ.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and Contribute to the Pastoral Leadership as a Team player
Provide Unity with Pastoral Staff
Participate in all facets of church life as needed
Work with Media/Tech Director
Develop a Culture of Worship among the Fellowship on campus, off campus, and online
Provide sensitivity to the multicultural makeup of the church
Blend worship to meet needs of congregation and community
Challenge church to grow in relationship with God
Create a pipeline to make disciples who use their musical gifts and talents to grow the body by developing leaders who follow God’s Call
Develop, recruit, train, and facilitate growth in all ages
Provide opportunities for musically gifted members to use talents
Strategic Planning of Services, Activities, Ministries, and Schedules that fulfill the vision of the church in loving God, loving People, and making disciples
Develop ministries that grow believers on campus and off campus in using their musical gifts and talents
Coordinate with other Pastoral Staff to provide appropriate ministries to Senior Adults, Adults, College, Youth, Children, etc., as needed
Challenge the church to expand opportunities to grow believers and reach those outside the church
Fulfill Administrative responsibilities in relationship to facilities, budgets, risk management, special events, and security in Music and Worship areas
Ideal Candidate:
Model Christian character and Biblical values to the fellowship
Team player and people person including energy and grace
Spiritual attitude in ministry and strong Biblical focus and foundation
Commitment to ongoing spiritual and professional growth
Passion and support for growing other believers as disciples who make disciples, the vision of First Baptist Church
Skill and knowledge of vocal techniques, current trends, and varied styles in music
Ability to play at least one musical instrument and to teach others
Ability to lead choral music and train leaders preferred
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
Exceptional speaking skills and ability to speak confidently before groups
Knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and correspondence forms
Regular, timely attendance during stated or negotiated hours
Excellent leadership, administrative, organizational, and time management skills
Advanced knowledge and ability with computer and technology
Degree from an accredited college or university; music degree and seminary experience preferred
3-5 years of experience in music and worship ministry in a local church preferred
Self-motivated, self-disciplined, and a strong-work ethic
Physical ability to perform duties associated with this position
Discretion and confidentiality in all matters related to church members and church business
