Job Description:

The Facilities Manager provides vision and leadership for church facility to include use of space and event management. The Manager oversees the facility staff and ensures that church property is utilized and maintained in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. The Manager oversees contracts and projects ensuring that operations are in compliance with regulations.

Required Responsibilities:

  1. Trains and supervises the facility staff and ensures competent work output.
  2. Serves as liaison with congregation, staff, ministry partners, and community for use of the facility.
  3. Manages daily programming of HVAC and entry systems.
  4. Oversees and performs room set-up, tear-down, clean-up and maintenance per ministry requirements to enhance ministry functions.
  5. Ensures the safety of the building and property from fire, flood and other hazards.
  6. Develops/implements back-up or alternative systems for common problems such as power shortage.
  7. Secures and oversees external facility vendors.
  8. Supervises renovation and construction projects. Advises church leadership on facility safety and maintenance ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  9. Assesses the condition of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing, and other essential equipment and creates repair and replacement plans. Ensures that all equipment and systems in the facility are working properly and maintains accurate records of the condition of equipment and other systems in the building.
  10. Manages the facilities budget to ensure effective and efficient use of funds.
  11. Partners with Executive Pastor in overseeing the church Safety, Medical, and Security Teams for safety measures on the property.
  12. Partners with Executive Pastor in managing any security professionals, and as such serves as the church’s liaison with local law enforcement.
  13. Develops and oversees volunteer teams to assist with property and facility needs (i.e., special events, coffee service, building maintenance/improvement projects).
  14. Maintains all church vehicles.

Required Skills:

  1. Strong interpersonal skills are extremely important as this Manager will be required to confer with a variety of people from all demographics.
  2. The Manager needs to have the heart of a servant and a willingness to work with the flexibility of ministry needs.
  3. Exceptional management skills are imperative. Must possess problem-solving skills and manage multiple projects at once.
  4. Performs physical work daily.
