ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
Oakdale Church has a vision is to see 1 million people in Montgomery County become disciples of Jesus through a Disciple-Making Movement by 2031, who will multiply disciples naturally through their existing social networks throughout the world. Oakdale Church
is focused on obedience-based discipleship and multiplying disciples in the world so that Jesus can build His Church. Oakdale is a sending church more than an attractional church. Oakdale Church allows the Holy Spirit to deepen our community as we commit ourselves
to the mission and vision God has given us.
JOB SUMMARY
The most important aspect for this position is leadership! The Pastor of Worship Arts will provide leadership, vision, and direction to all aspects of worship at Oakdale Church. They will relentlessly provide godly leadership to the existing musicians, identify,
develop, and empower new musicians, artists, engineers, and technicians to cultivate a life-giving, passionate, worship at Oakdale. They will oversee the structures and systems of the Worship. This leader will focus on equipping and developing people, systems,
and strategies to plan and execute worship experiences from Easter to Christmas, Ash Wednesday to Thanksgiving, Sunday after Sunday. The Worship Arts Pastor oversees the details of planning and executing all of Oakdale’s worship experiences.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading worship/arts teams and possess a successful track record building teams and ministering through others. They will have the ability to lead worship but must also be very comfortable not leading from the platform.

Here at Oakdale, we expect the Worship Arts Pastor to faithfully participate in the life and ministry of the church and to grow spiritually and professionally while being a key part of our ever-expanding staff. The good news is we do not expect you to do
this alone. We on staff seek to walk alongside you as you continue to mature and grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
As part of our journey together, we will expect the Worship Arts Pastor to uphold the attached leadership covenant as well as the following staff covenant:
- Model a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ in speech, actions, and attitude.
- Pray daily for our church family and staff.
- Show by example the importance of the Word of God, prayer, fellowship, and Christian service.
- Support the mission and vision of Oakdale Church through the ministry of worship.
- Believe the best and speak well of fellow staff, loving one another as Christ loves.
- Maintain a sense of unity and community within the staff and church family.
- Stay in regular communication with supervisor and other staff.
- Work with and meet regularly with supervisor to set and evaluate goals for personal and professional development and take advantage of training and continuing education opportunities.
- Respect and uphold matters of confidentiality.
- Follow policies and procedures as outlined in the Oakdale Church Personnel Policy Manual.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
Oversight/Management
- Oversee the planning and direction of all worship services including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter, and Funeral support.
- Lead worship services, planning sessions, and practices whenever necessary.
- Manage the selection and arrangement of songs, prayers, readings, dramas, and other acts of worship for all of Oakdale’s worship gatherings in collaboration with worship leaders.
- Coordinate and schedule music, computer, audio, and video tech teams and equipment as needed.
- Supervise all other worship support teams (Communion, Baptism, Worship Design, Technology, and other teams as needed).
- Prepare and manage annual worship budget.
- Oversee the maintenance of all musical instruments and equipment.
- Work with the Communications Director to promote specific worship services and sermon series.
- Coordinate with other campuses and community leaders as needed.
- Ensure proper music licenses are purchased and maintained (CCLI).
- Provide leadership to starting new worship gatherings of different styles in multiple locations.
- Develop, encourage, and disciple current and new worship ministry leaders.
- Recruit and help introduce new worship ministry volunteers.

- Educator: Quick Learner with a bachelor’s degree or higher
- A specialization in worship, music, arts, and/or theology is preferred but not required.
- Techie: Computer and technology professional with proficient knowledge of Pro Presenter, Planning Center, SongSelect®, Microsoft Office, sound/audio/lighting software, etc.
- Self-starter: Organized innovator able to see projects to completion, resolving issues along the way.
- Forward thinker: Brainstormer able to see the big picture of where the church is headed while simultaneously paying attention to all the details involved in planning weekly worship services.
