Senior Pastor Ministry Profile

Position Summary:  Senior Pastor is the called spiritual leader of Victor Valley Christian Church (VVCC). He is the primary visionary, communicator, preacher, and teacher. He curates the God given mission and the organizational cultural values while functioning as the primary champion of all ministry vision. He holds VVCC’s ministry teams accountable to honor the core values of the church.

Principal Working Relationships: The Senior Pastor serves at the behest of Jesus Christ and is held accountable to the Elder board of the church, of which he is the first among equals. He gives primary oversight to all VVCC Staff. 

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Fulfill the biblical mandate of the pastor to “prepare God’s people for works of service (Ephesians 4:12)“ by providing spiritual leadership to church staff and congregation as:

• SHEPHERD

• EVANGELIST

• TEACHER

• STEWARD

• STAFF OVERSEER

Personal Profile:

• Has a clear calling to shepherd a local church congregation 
• Submits to the Bible as life’s ultimate and final authority and chooses to actively and continually submit his own life to its teachings 
• Is able to communicate and collaborate well with other leaders on his team 
• A balanced life between family and church responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Meet the biblical requirements as listed in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in theology/ministry, preferably from a college or university within the Restoration Movement
• At least three years experience in a pastoral role with supervisory responsibilities
• Agrees with, and supports, all church bylaws and church doctrine.

About VVCC:

VVCC is a non-denominational Christian Church in the Restoration Movement (Christian Church/Church of Christ) brotherhood of churches. It has been a constant presence in Hesperia since 1969. It is a pastor led, Elder supported, multi-racial, and multi-generational congregation. Prior to Covid-19, attendance average for the 2019 year was 230 in worship and including kids and youth for a total of 338 Sunday mornings. There were Sunday classes for children of all ages and midweek youth and children’s ministries as well. Adult discipleship was primarily through small groups and service and ministry opportunities. Corporately the church supports missions in Kenya, Guatemala, Gig Harbor, WA, and has its own orphan sponsorship ministry partnering with Upper Hill Christian Church in Migori, Kenya.
