Creekside Church is a dynamic, relevant, and growing congregation of 450+ people in Wasilla, Alaska. Wasilla is about 45 minutes outside of Anchorage and is beautifully nestled amongst the mountains in the Matanuska Valley. We are a non-denominational, non-charismatic evangelical church drawing people from all backgrounds. Our vision is to accomplish Jesus’ command to love him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbor as ourselves.  Our mission is to accomplish Jesus’ command to make disciples (who make disciples) of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them everything that Jesus commanded us. Our values are to become a church modeled after Acts 2:42…devoting ourselves to the Apostles teachings, to fellowship, to sharing in meals and to prayer. 

 

ABOUT THE OPENING

In 2020, Creekside Church hired a new Preaching and Teaching Pastor and now we are looking to fill a full time Worship Pastor position to join our growing church and staff.  The ministry is ready to be led and hasn’t had a full-time staff person since 2019. The team is currently being led by a paid, part-time worship leader, Sheri Williams (who is doing a great job) but it is time to open up the position for a full time Pastor and we are super excited about it! 

 

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for a passionate worshiper of God to lead our church in authentic worship. This person will possess: evident godly character, demonstrated servant leadership, exceptional musical ability, and proven team-building skills—all of these affirmed in the local church setting. The worship pastor will be responsible for the weekend worship experience, working in conjunction with our teaching pastors. Primary duties include:

  • Direct oversight over our worship arts team and AVL tech teams and production teams. 
  • Must be a gifted musician: great singer vocally, lead and play skillfully with your main instrument.  
  • Must have the skill and experience in leading in a contemporary musical style (ie. Austin Stone, Village Church)...not looking for traditional setting, choirs etc.  We are currently leading with a band, and are looking for someone who has the creativity and skill to lead and build this ministry…with the main focus of worshiping Jesus.  
  • Proficiency in leading teams along with strong people skills are a must.
  • This person will also share in carrying out congregational pastoral responsibilities as part of a pastoral team.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Professional Experience:  

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a local church as a full time Worship Pastor
  • Preferred experience leading worship with a full band in a congregation of 500+.
  • Preferred Bible College/Seminary coursework.
  • Willingness to work within a team leadership structure. 

Knowledge of and working proficiency with:

  • Leading worship with a primary instrument
  • Leading and directing a full worship team including; Vocals, background vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, acoustic drums, keys & bass guitar.
  • Allen & Heath SQ Series Digital Soundboard
  • Allen & Heath ME-1 in-ear stage monitor system
  • ProPresenter 7
  • Ableton Live (producing click tracks, music loops, and music direction)
  • Silent Stage Setup and Design
  • Planning Center
  • Vista 3 DMX Lighting System
