Senior Pastor

Worship

• The Pastor is responsible for providing scripturally based, thought provoking sermons each week.

• The Pastor, in partnership with the Music Director, will plan for appropriate music that enhances the congregation’s worship experience.

• The Pastor is responsible for special services when appropriate: i.e. Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Eve, and Christmas Eve and any other special service that may be required.

• The use of Deacons in our services is encouraged.

  Spiritual Growth

• Continued spiritual growth is a vital aspect of our church. The Pastor is expected to lead our congregation into a deeper relationship with our Lord.

• The Pastor, along with the Sunday School Superintendent, should oversee an effective Sunday School program for congregants of all ages.

• The Pastor should encourage other discipleship opportunities such as mid-week Bible studies, small group studies, and retreats as appropriate. Hopefully, the Pastor will personally lead a study.

• The Pastor should work closely with our Deacons so they too will not only grow spiritually but are trained to lead.

• The Pastor should be available to offer spiritual guidance for those who want to meet.

Visitation

• Our church has a long history of visiting hospitals and praying with our congregants before surgeries and during their stay.
• Nursing home visits will be expected when we have members there for rehabilitation or long-term care.

• Home visits for our shut-ins is expected as well as Holy Communion for those who cannot attend church.

Outreach

• The Pastor is responsible for maintaining relationships we have with outside groups who use our facility such as AA, NA, TOPS, Youth for Christ, and our local community organization.

• We are looking for a Pastor who will lead us in developing a strategy to widen our relationships with outside groups.

• The Pastor, along with our Youth Leader, should develop methods of reaching more youth within our church and in our community.

Administrative

• The Pastor will oversee all aspects and personnel of the church, including the staff, ministry leaders, Trustees and Deacons and financial reports.

• The Pastor will help and maintain a friendly and collegial relationship with all other church leaders.

• The Pastor should be a wise steward of the resources God has provided.

• The Pastor will be responsible for preparing an article for our bi-monthly newsletter.

• The Pastor will attend Trustee and Congregational meetings as they meet quarterly and have a quarterly Pastor report prepared.
