Purpose
Multiply and mature students as disciples of Jesus Christ. Provide direction and pastoral care to the Student Ministry staff and volunteers, as they minister to students. Shepherd, lead and build biblical community for middle school, high school and college
students and their families through the Student Ministry and other related and supportive ministries.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Shepherd the staff, volunteers and students.
- Set vision and policy for the Student Ministry department.
- Ensure integrity and responsibility in all areas of the ministry.
- Develop and oversee programs to actively reach the students of the community.
- Develop and manage the budget.
- Spend adequate time with students and families to build relationships and minister to them.
- Recruit, train, supervise and minister to paid staff as well as volunteer staff.
- Provide counseling to students and parents on an as-needed basis.
- Encourage church membership and ministry among the students.
- Actively participate in the assimilation of visitors and new members to the church.
- Participate in leadership and direction of special missions programs, service activities, lunch room visits, social events, teaching sessions and athletic programs.
- Maintain and coordinate the student ministry calendar in support of the overall church calendar.
- Network with other student pastors and their ministries.
- Participate in other pastoral functions and worship services as assigned.
- Regularly report to the Executive Pastor of Ministries for accountability, encouragement, and planning.
Qualifications
- A Christian committed to growing in Christ.
- Support the mission, vision, and core values of Central Church.
- At least three years experience, on staff at a church, in a leadership position ministering to students.
- Graduate level seminary degree is required.
