Purpose:

The Family Life Pastor brings credible, hands-on leadership to our Kids Community and Student Ministry Teams, while providing visionary leadership for our Men’s, Women’s and Family Ministry Teams. This person also shares a significant portion of the Pastoral Duties of a growing multi-campus church ministry.

Profile:

  • Has a strong relationship with Christ that is dynamic and growing
  • Prefers working in a fast-paced, always-changing environment
  • Recruits and empowers volunteer teams
  • Ability to lead and shepherd the Family Ministry Team into the future
  • Must have experience in Children and/or Student Ministries 
  • Must be an organized and strategic thinker

Responsibilities:

Team and Staff Leadership

  • Oversight of Kids Community and the Kids Community staff at all Campuses
  • Oversight of Student Ministries and the Student Ministry staff at all Campuses
  • Oversight of Men's and Women’s Ministries. This includes recruiting, discipling and empowering volunteer teams 

Family Ministry Team

  • Lead regular Family Ministry Team Meetings
  • Conduct 1:1 Meetings to equip and empower the Family Ministry staff 
  • Work on developing a vision with the Family Ministry Team to align with Heartland’s strategic goals 
  • Regularly assess Kids Community and Student Ministries
  • Help set vision for creative ways to engage parents and the community

Staff Involvement

  • Attend monthly All-Staff Meetings as well as required Pastoral events
  • Collaborate with other Ministry areas of Heartland as appropriate

Pastoral Duties

  • Preaching and Teaching
  • Shepherding and providing spiritual guidance among the Staff and Heartland members
  • Performing sacerdotal duties, such as baptism, communion, funerals, weddings, and pre-marital counseling assessments

Credentials and Expectations:

  • Ministry Experience Preference: 10 Years Full-Time, most in Vocational Ministry
  • Education Experience Preference: Master’s Degree
  • Additional Details:
    • The Family Life Pastor position does qualify for a Pastoral Housing Allowance.
    • Ordination Preferred
    • Salary range is dependent on education and experience and is open to negotiation

We are empowering people to share the love of Jesus by using their gifts and abilities to serve others and extend the Kingdom of God in our community and throughout the world  (Mark 10:45 and James 1:27). Our methods include short-term mission trips, local outreaches and strategic missional partnerships with ministries and organizations that share values similar to ours. Our goal is to empower everyone who calls Heartland their home to be able to share the love of God with their community.
