The Worship Director role oversees the worship culture of Vizion Church. This position serves as the direct report for the Worship Department, which consists of the music and production teams.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Attend weekly worship planning meetings
- Attend bi-weekly leadership committee meetings
- Oversee Worship Budget
- CCLI / Songselect Reporting
- Oversee ProPresenter & Planning Center Media / Files
- Ensure multitracks, loops, mp3’s and chord charts are correct
Creative Responsibilities
- Publish weekly setlist and service flow:
- Soulful contemporary, with a mix of familiar hymns and contemporary gospel
- Create first draft of weekly setlist for Pastoral approval
- Ensure song choices are “blended” in style:
- Ensure all song choices are scripturally accurate and emphasize God rather than self-centered songs
- Onboard music and production volunteers
- Ensure the audition process is simple, efficient and effective for those auditioning.
- Recruit additional team members when necessary.
- Lead with a multiplication mindset
- Grow the team spiritually, numerically, and practically
- Schedule music and production volunteers on Planning Center Online
- Ensure the schedule on PCO (Planning Center Online) Services stays minimum 4 weeks ahead
- Set expectations of call times, preparedness, excellence, etc…
- Write Songs
- Write songs that are in alignment with the Vizion Church statement of faith (see VizionChurch.com)
- Implement songs into the worship rotation
- Organize monthly team nights
- Maintain + expand worship culture and community within the team
- Develop team members spiritually and practically
- Establish culture of worship at Vizion Church
- Encourage them to sit front and center to model the culture of worship on Sundays
- Work with Lead Pastor / church leadership on special events.
- Encourage team members to attend church when not scheduled.
- Encourage team members to be professional in dress and appearance
- Input weekly information into ProPresenter
- Ensure correct songs are uploaded in the correct order and are grammatically and aesthetically correct
- Select graphics / video loops for each song
- Ensure all announcement slides are correct
- Ensure all pre/ post roll videos are up-to-date
- Input the emcee announcements into PCO (Planning Center Online)
- Ensure proper information is communicated at the appropriate time, by prioritizing announcements and selecting the top 3 to be communicated via the emcee spot.
- Set-up Ableton for weekly setlist
- Ensure transitions are smooth and seamless
- Input / edit loops if necessary
- Oversee Multitracks account
- Oversee all audio/ video / lighting equipment
- Oversee upgrading/ ordering/ implementation process
- Maintain Inventory
- Oversee backdrop installations
- Oversee weekly broadcast
- Ensure the weekly broadcasts (YouTube, Podcast, Facebook) are conducted with a spirit of excellence
- Assist Lead Pastor with special projects upon request
Sunday Responsibilities
- Serve as Worship Director
- Oversee soundcheck + rehearsal
- Lead congregation in worship
- Oversee music team
- Serve as direct report for Music Director, Audio Team Leader and Video Team Leader
- Develop Team Members
- Look for opportunities to develop team members into leaders
Qualifications
- General knowledge of Planning Center Online
- General knowledge of ProPresenter
- General knowledge of Audio, Video Equipment
- General knowledge of Adobe Premiere
- General knowledge of Ableton
