Job Description

The Associate Minister of Worship works with the Worship Pastor, worship ministry staff, and student ministry staff in the planning and implementation of worship services while upholding the vision, direction, and systems of First Baptist Church Texarkana and its Worship Ministry. The Associate Minister of Worship assists in the day-today responsibilities of the worship ministry as needed. The Associate Minister of Worship is also responsible for student ministry worship and the development of the student ministry worship team.

Qualifications

• Must be a follower of Jesus Christ, exhibiting a growing relationship and spiritual maturity. Committed to continuing spiritual, personal, and professional development.
• Must understand and have a commitment to the vision of First Baptist Church Texarkana.
• Must be teachable with willingness to grow and learn
• Must be a team player and a strong leader, possessing strong team building skills
• Must have a strong knowledge of music both vocally and instrumentally
• Must have the ability to lead worship effectively
• Must possesses good communication skills: written, verbal, and interpersonal.
• Must be skilled in working with Planning Center Online and Pro Presenter, or willing/able to learn
• Must be a person who can follow directions, follow through with commitments, and see things through to completion. Being dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative.
• Able to work with all demographics
• Experience leading in a student worship context
• Must be willing to work some evenings, weekends, and extra hours when needed within reason

Responsibilities

• Oversee student ministry worship
• Partner with the student ministry Pastor(s) in worship planning.
• Recruit, train, and develop student band and singers
• Discipleship of the student ministry band
• Be responsible for media and technology for student worship services
• Participate in, and/or lead, Sunday worship as needed
• Participate in, and/or lead, rehearsals as needed
• Help recruit, train, and develop band members
• Oversee the writing and implementation of original music while working with the Music Associate on the arrangements
• Oversee the production of sharable music/media  
• Be a part of the School of Worship Arts teaching team
• Other duties as assigned
