Lead Musician

Part-time staff position, approximately 6-10 hours per week (including 3.5 hrs per Sunday)

The Lead Musician’s job is to lead the church in all matters musically.  He/she will work to implement the church’s vision for worship & music.  This includes primary responsibility for music in Sunday services as well as necessary administrative support.  In addition to the weekly Sunday services, the lead musician will lead up to 8 special services per year, for example Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and occasional funerals or weddings.

• Proficiency in singing and playing either piano or guitar in a way that leads the church’s worship and fits with the church’s liturgy.
• Proficiency in reading and writing musical arrangements. 
• Ability to provide leadership and direction to contracted professionals and volunteer musicians.
