ABOUT DC CHURCH: DC Church is a healthy, multi-generational, multi-site church with two campuses located minutes from the Virginia Beach oceanfront in the expanding cities of Chesapeake and Portsmouth, Virginia. We have a growing church and we are searching for a skilled, self-motivated, passionate, and focused leader to join our staff.
SUMMARY: The Audio Engineer will prepare service audio requirements and operate equipment to integrate audio sources and create a full program mix for live and recorded services. They will work with multiple ministries to ensure that production requirements for audio and video are complete. The Audio Engineer is a team leader who successfully builds and develops servant leader teams. Raising and training the volunteer teams is crucial. TheAudio Engineer will work with the Media/Creative Director and Worship Pastor on the purchase, installation and maintenance of all audio, video and production equipment. The salary package for this position ranges from $55,000-$75,000.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing relationship with Him
- College Degree or equivalent and 3-5 years in related field
- Willing to become a member of DC Church, in accordance with the church’s mission & vision
- Ability to think quickly, communicate well and keep pace with fast moving services
- Possess excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
- Ready to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience using digital & analog audio consoles
- Minimum of three (3) years of Worship experience preparing and mixing Audio & Lighting
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in live Worship and Video production
- Experience with multi-track recording and post-production audio editing software
- Proficiency with the following software, equipment & interfaces:
- Allen & Heath Sound Systems (Avantis, SQ6, QU24, ME-1, ME-500)
- Dante Audio Networking
- Planning Center, Ableton, Logic Pro, Adobe Audition, Lightkey
- Apple Computers & iPads
- SHURE Microphones & IEMs
- Black Magic ATEM Broadcast Switchers
- RESI Live Stream Broadcasting
- Willing to work at multiple locations
- Must have reliable transportation
- Pass a background check
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Willing and able to to climb ladders, crawl under stages, operate a hydraulic lift and be comfortable with heights
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Train audio volunteers to a competent level of technical ability
- Prepare the audio operations and technical infrastructure details for assigned services
- Serve as Front of House (FOH) Audio Mixer or Online Broadcast Audio Mixer for weekend services and other events as scheduled
- Ensure all audio equipment is in good working order and ready for use as required
- Assist with weekly rehearsal schedules to ensure all audio equipment is set up in a timely fashion to facilitate worship rehearsals
- Test and prepare video/streaming, audio operation systems and equipment
- Assist with stage scenery, construction and installation
- Assist with the programming and operation of Pro Presenter slides and videos
- Assist with the operation of video recording equipment for weekly broadcasts, announcements, podcasts, testimonies, etc.
- Assist with the installation and operation of Lighting Control Systems as needed
- Oversee and coordinate volunteers for Weddings and Funerals
- Perform other duties assigned by the Media/Creative Director and Worship Pastor
Audio Excellence
- Must have expertise in mixing audio for live production services
- FOH & Live Broadcast audio quality are the highest priorities for both campuses
- Establish mixing protocols and manage all sound system settings
- Oversee Post-Production Quality for:
- Excellent and Consistent Sermon audio
- Multi-track recording from the SQ6 & Avantis for training and post-production
- Ensure audio quality for video Announcements, Podcasts, Testimonies
Team Building & Development of Volunteers
- Self-Motivated Leader and Mentor
- Coordinate and prioritize training
- Communicate via Planning Center, text, email, etc.
Audio Equipment
- Maintenance
- Purchase Recommendations (microphones, consoles, software, etc.)
- Installation
- Catalog Inventory
- Review all old items & assist with selling, storage or disposal
Weekly Prep
- Oversee stage prep for all services
- Prepare all audio equipment for worship services
- Assist with media prep for both campuses
- Assist with lighting programming for both campuses
- Assist with Announcement or Podcast recordings
