Worship Leader

MISSION: To move people closer to Christ by assisting the weekly worship gatherings, leading worship primarily at the 12 Points Campus, collaborating with Worship Pastor and Worship & Production staff, and performing various ministry duties.

PURPOSE:  Responsible for (1) worship leading in worship gatherings (2) creating and/or coordinating all elements of Sunday gathering, including technology needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

• Serve as the primary worship leader in weekly worship gatherings at MCC 12 Points location.
• Provide materials to appropriate musicians and band members in a timely manner.
• Manage the maintenance and replacement purchases of all band instruments according to purchasing and budgeting guidelines and approval of the Worship Pastor.
• Assist in the development and creation of all creative elements; overseeing purchasing and construction in collaboration with Worship Pastor.
• Design, construct, maintain, and deconstruct all stage designs at both MCC locations.
• Responsible to help recruit, train, and manage the technical ministry team, which includes: audio lights, video, graphics, and video production on a church wide basis with priorities established as emphasis on the technical production of MCC events at 12 Points Campus
• Coordinate with Pastor of Worship the purchasing and installation of new equipment as needed as well as overseeing repairs and maintaining as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma with secondary education or equivalent experience; A follower of Jesus with unquestionable character; worship leading skills as a musician and vocalist displaying a confident grasp of instrument with strong stage presence; a passion for a corporate gathering, biblical knowledge of worship; leadership and personal leadership skills; organizational and communication skills; strong ability to work and relate to people of all backgrounds; minimum one year previous ministry experience; computer skills in Word, Excel, and internet savvy.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BA Degree with education and training in music and vocals; background in active worship leading in a non-traditional environment; exceptional worship leading skills as a musician and vocalist displaying a confident grasp of instrument with strong stage presence; Excellent Organizational and communication skills; strong ability to lead a team of volunteers and work effectively with staff and leadership teams; five years of previous ministry experience; high level of technical skill in the worship environment

• Spends time in prayer and study of God’s Word on a daily basis
• Is involved in personal discipleship, either small group or one-on-one
• Stays current with ministry trends by listening to worship, reading books, periodicals and attending approved conferences.
