Job Description:
Be part of a staff which makes a difference in the spiritual lives of children in a loving, safe community. There are lots of Children's activities at our church and we are looking for someone who can add their strengths to the mix and support our Children's
Ministry Director.
Responsibilities include:
-Teaching (using a Methodist/Christian curriculum) to a group of children who can range in age from 4 years to 5th grade on Sunday mornings all year and Wednesday nights during the school year
- Helping to advertise, prep for, recruit volunteers for, help run and clean up after Children's Ministry events throughout the year. Events are usually Saturday evenings (6 times per year) or Saturday mornings (twice per year) and Vacation Bible School which
lasts a week in July (this year).
- Organizing storage area, sending birthday cards and revising bulletin boards
- Individual will report to, take direction from and collaborate with Children's Ministry Director
Qualifications desired:
- Must be flexible, organized and kind
- Work experience with children from 4 years to 5th grade
- Confident teaching/correcting/keeping order
- Ability to interact well with adults/children/pre-teen and teen helpers and volunteers
- At least 18 years or older, preferable high school diploma
- Prefer mature Christian with college degree in teaching, child care or religious field of study but will consider others
- Ideal candidate would have First Aid and CPR training or be willing to get certified. Preference for someone who has taught four to 11-year-old kids before, at least minimally, whether that be in a school, daycare, camp or some other setting. Not required but a big plus would be an individual who has some skill with singing, theatre, dancing that they could use to help the kids praise God.

Job Type: Part-time (average of 10 hours per week but can go up to 20 hours certain times of the year but those extra hours can be flexed for convenience of individual)
