Position Summary

The Children’s Ministry Director will provide direct oversight, pastoral care for children and families, leadership development and strategic vision for FBC’s Children’s ministries (birth – 6th grade). This will include developing and maintaining a team-oriented culture with staff and a Christ-centered overall culture. The Director will work with the Student Ministry Pastor to facilitate a smooth transition to FBC’s Junior High ministry. Finally, this person will serve on the Ministry Lead Team (MLT) that drives and implements FBC’s mission and vision.

Events and Training

· Oversee all Children’s Ministry programing and staff: AWANA, Upward Sports, and Sunday programming

· Champion and lead annual events to include holiday programming, special children’s events, and Vacation Bible School.

· Take an active teaching role in essential classes including children’s baptism, dedications and parenting to support families.

· Initiate new programs and structures to reach non-churched kids

Communication & Administration

· Review and assess space, equipment, and supply needs for the ministry

· Develop and monitor annual budget

· Technology proficiency to support the ministry

· Communicate with parents and staff in a professional and timely manner

Education & Experience

· Biblical training in college and / or Seminary

· Proven track record of leading a growing and healthy Children’s ministry

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Children’s ministry

· Multi-staff church or para church ministry experience preferred

· Degree in childhood development preferred

· Full-time salary

· 100% insurance for employee
