Lead Pastor – Legacy Christian Church

Legacy Christian Church is currently seeking a full-time lead pastor to help lead our church! This position is based in Senoia GA.

Position Overview:

The lead pastor will be responsible for leading the congregation in carrying out the vision of Legacy. This will include leading (both spiritually and practically), preaching and helping to fulfill the primary vision of Legacy as well as managing and developing the ministry team. The lead pastor will be responsible for:

• Ministry of the Word

  • The lead pastor will be the primary preacher for the church and will teach God’s Word faithfully, according to sound doctrine and Biblical principles.

• Prayer

  • The lead pastor will set the pace in Kingdom-focused prayer by spending time praying daily for the ministry of the church, that people in our community will be saved, that our members will grow in spiritual maturity and that God's will be done in all that we do. 

• Leadership

  • The lead pastor will have a proven track record of leading the church in all areas of ministry and as a manager of the church staff.

• Discipleship

  • The Lead pastor will demonstrate a lifestyle of personal discipleship and oversee its application in congregational life as well.

• Teaching

  • The lead pastor, along with the Elders and other ministry staff, will nurture and administer the overall teaching ministry of the church.

• Pastor care

  • The lead pastor will be responsible for overseeing the ministry of pastoral care to individuals, couples, families, and groups. The lead pastor will provide or oversee pastoral care to those in personal crisis through counseling, prayer, and visitation.

• Leader of staff

  • The lead pastor will lead and oversee the staff for both the ministry and non-ministry positions. The lead pastor should have a proven track record as an effective manager of people.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Reflects all the characteristics and qualities of an elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

• Be in full agreement with and committed to Legacy’s stated Mission, Core Values and Statement of Faith (www.legacysenoia.org/legacy-vision, www.legacysenoia.org/what-we-believe)  and exhibit a lifestyle that is consistent with these values and beliefs.

• Have an active, regular and meaningful prayer life.

• Have a grounded and passionate belief in and extensive theological knowledge and understanding of the eternal, inerrant and unalterable Word of God as revealed in the Old and New Testament.

• At a minimum, the lead pastor must hold a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry or Biblical Studies or Theology or equivalent from an accredited institution. Ideally, the lead pastor will hold a Master of Divinity or Master of Theology or equivalent.

• Minimum 5 years of experience preaching the gospel using sound, defendable exposition.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a manager of people.

Position Criteria:

• Developed leadership, team building, conflict resolution and collaboration skills

• History of good decision making that demonstrates sound judgment in all areas of ministry

• Achieves excellence in all areas of ministry

• Preaching expected 45 weeks out of a calendar year include all major holidays (Christmas, Easter...)

• Work in cooperation with the Elder Board in an effort to fulfill the vision of Legacy.
