Community Care and Missions Pastor/Director

Job Description

Position: Community Care and Outreach Director              

Reports to:                   Executive Pastor

Type of Position:          Full-Time, Exempt

Overview:

The Outreach Director will advance the mission and vision of Spring Lake Church by leading the congregation towards higher outreach engagement locally, nationally, and globally.

Responsibilities:

Leadership

• Develop and implement the Outreach Strategy specifically in the areas to expose, equip, and engage SLC members and attenders.
• Lead the Outreach Ministry Team consisting of Area Leaders to focus on significant areas of ministry.
• Recruit and Remove Area Leaders and Focus Area Champions
• Financial responsibility of the Outreach Budget.

Local Community

• Champion Local Outreach Strategy that increases the number of SLC members and attenders engaged in local outreach.
• Work alongside Local Area Leader to develop and strengthen relationships with local partners that support the Local Outreach Strategy.
• Lead two to three all-church initiatives with a goal to engage SLC members and attenders, support our local partners, and bless our local community.
• Lead Benevolence process to respond to needs within the Green Bay Community.

 Care Groups

• Work with Care Groups Area Leader to expand the number and reach of Care Groups that serve SLC members/attenders and throughout the Green Bay community.                                                                                                                         

Global Missions

• Work with Global Area Leader to maintain strong relationships with global partners.
• Assure there are ample short-term mission opportunities for SLC members/attenders. 

Missionaries

• Work with Missionary Area Leader to maintain strong relationships with missionaries.
• Develop criteria and evaluation for long-term missionaries along with Missionary Area Leader.
• Discern and support short-term mission requests throughout the year, alongside the Missionary Area Leader.

Requirements:

• Vibrant and healthy spiritual life.
• Member or willing to become a member of Spring Lake Church.
• 2-5 years’ experience serving in Outreach Ministry.
• Solid team player who can play the role of servant, peer, and leader in team dynamics.
• Self-starter eager to create and develop goals and strategies for areas of responsibility.
• Ability to recruit, develop, and retain adult volunteers.
• Licensed or willing to go through the licensing process through the EFCA.
