Resurrection Church
In the fall of 2018 Resurrection Church officially launched as a new Church across two locations. We are consumed with Making the name of Jesus famous in the City, State, and ends of the earth through all we do. As a Church we have 3 distinctives that we strive to live by.
1) We will be an overwhelmingly generous Church. We live this out in many ways, but a few are through our missions efforts. We give 15% of our offerings to support mission work all over the world. We also have a thrift store that is predominantly volunteer ran and gives all its proceeds to missions as well. In just over a year of being open the Junk-a-tique thrift store has given over a 100k to missions.
2) We will be a cross-generational Church that raises the next generation. We live out this value by having spaces where we intentionally integrate people of all generations into ministry service together.
3) We will be intentionally multi-cultural. We live out this value by knowing the ethnic diversity around our campuses and measuring that to the ethnic diversity within each campus. We believe our campus should represent the diversity of the community around us if we are reaching the people closest to us.
River Campus.
The River Campus of Resurrection Church has a rich tradition within the Bakersfield community. Prior to merging to become a brand new Church in 2018, the River Campus had a 60 year history in Bakersfield. Today the River Campus is the fastest growing campus of Resurrection Church. Currently the 34 acre campus offers many unique ministry opportunities for the community. Weekly campus ministries include Kids Invest program, Griefshare, Celebrate Recovery, and Student Ministry. On Sundays we run a coffee house with two unique worship services, "Traditions" and "Modern". The facilities boast two parks, gymnasium, chapel, and a 800 seat sanctuary. Current weekly attendance averages 650-700 adults and 80-100 kids (Pre-k to 6th grade).
Resurrection Church is a newly launched two campus Church in Bakersfield CA. In 2017 a group of elders from Calvary Bible approached the leadership of Hingepoint Church with a radical proposal. Calvary was a Church with 62 years of history in Bakersfield, known for their generosity and love for missions. Hingepoint was a young under resourced Church plant reaching a diverse group of people in downtown Bakersfield. The leadership of Calvary's proposal was that we could be better together than apart. Calvary's elders believed that their strengths complemented Hingepoint's weaknesses and vice versa. After a season of prayer and meetings between the two Churches, both voted to lay their individual histories down in order to begin something new together in January of 2018. The result of that move is what has become Resurrection Church. Resurrection officially launched in the fall of 2018, and in its first year as a new Church they have baptized over 130 people and given nearly 350k to missions. The challenges ahead are significant, but their is a confidence amongst the leadership that Gods presence and grace are with them.
