It is expected that this position will require approximately 8-10 hours per week. Since Ministry happens where people are; much of this can be done outside of the walls of the Church. Only Sunday morning, Wednesday night and meetings with Leadership and Elders are mandatory inside the Church.

JOB TITLE: Family Ministries Director

Status: Part Time

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

To help parents and children connect their faith in Jesus with their family and Church.

REPORTS TO:Lead Pastor/Executive Pastor. The Lead/Executive Pastor will administrate work schedule, time-off requests, ministry budget, and performance reviews.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Exemplify the leadership qualities listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Galatians 5:22-23
• Must wholeheartedly support the core vision, direction, and philosophy of LWC.
• At least three years of experience and leadership in Ministry required.
• Should demonstrate leadership skills.
• Must be flexible as the ministry grows.
• Requires the ability to problem solve, resolve conflict, and do initial counseling with ministry partners and families when appropriate.
• Must be in attendance at called meetings with Leadership and Elder Board.
• Must be able to resolve conflict calmly and with respect.
• Ensure all volunteer security clearances are complete and up to date and that there is full compliance to our Protection Policy
• Build, equip, mobilize, and lead a team responsible for effectively sharing the Gospel with children and youth from birth through adolescence and teen years
• Encourage and provide for the spiritual, relational, and ministry growth of each team member.
• Help Christian children spiritually influence their unbelieving parents and siblings
• Oversee transitions from nursery to children’s ministry, children’s ministry to youth ministry
• Coordinate & Oversee staff and volunteer schedules with the nursery/preschool director, Children’s Team Leaders to ensure all ministry areas are staffed.
• Constantly supply parents with resources to help them connect spiritually with their kids
• Organize and offer classes that teach and promote Christian parenting
• Plan events to help parents and kids connect
• Meet with parents; serve as liaison between parents and Children’s Ministry
• Fill in for Team Members on Wednesday & Sunday when they are absent
• Plan and oversee Early Childhood budget.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Wednesdays and Sundays

5-8 hours/week
