Church Description: Central Coast Assembly of God, (CCAG) began as a Sunday School in 1931 and was affiliated with the Assemblies of God in 1943. We have a blended congregation of children, youth and adults of all ages. There are about 110 adherents and approximately 200 people who consider CCAG their church home. CCAG has been meeting at its present 12,000 sq. ft. building since 1968.

Position Overview: Works with the Senior Pastor in developing, implementing and facilitating the ministries of Central Coast Assembly of God, (CCAG). Loves people, connects with the community, shares the good news and makes disciples.  Depends on prayer, the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Is the “point person” for connecting CCAG to the community.
  • Develops pathways for CCAG involvement in the community; focusing on growing the influence, involvement and impact of CCAG in Newport and on the Central Oregon Coast.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of the CCAG annual community connection calendar.
  • Helps identify, develop, train, equip and empower CCAG community connection leaders.
  • Facilitates vibrant – Bible-centric - Youth Ministries.
  • Facilitates leading edge – Scripture-based Children’s Ministries.
  • Develops and facilitates:
  • Relevant ministries to and for Young Adults.
  • Assimilation of visitors and new attendees into CCAG congregational life.
  • Helps identify, train, equip, coach and provide care to CCAG ministry leaders.
  • Meets regularly with ministry leaders and maintains an ongoing healthy coaching-mentoring relationship.
  • Serves as a visible and accessible leadership presence at CCAG gatherings and services.
  • Participates in and provides leadership for regular CCAG gatherings and services as requested.
  • Serves as requested in pulpit ministry – preaching/teaching at Sunday gatherings and services.
  • Provides specialized pastoral care as requested for (funerals, hospital visits, weddings).
  • Coordinates worship team and/or participates in worship, music ministry and related activities.
  • Provides short-term counseling and referrals as necessary.
  • Provides oversight for CCAG’s online presence; Facebook, website, YouVersion connect etc.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Senior Pastor

Skills and Qualifications: Has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Is called by God to full-time ministry. Engages with the Word of God and is dependent on prayer. Is Spirit-filled and Spirit-led. Is committed to personal growth, servant leadership, healthy relationships, and being one in the spirit with the Senior Pastor and leadership at CCAG. Is an energetic, organized, and self-motivated. Is a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Has a passion for connecting people to God and to CCAG. Demonstrates the ability to recruit, train, and support volunteers. Is excited by the opportunity to work with a church that desires to see growth in people’s lives and their participation in ministry. Has ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.  Is in good standing with the network/district.  Has 2 to 5 years’ experience in a related ministry position.

Hours: Position is part-time (25 to 30 hours per week) and will grow to full-time in 1 to 2 years. Person assuming this role could be bi-vocational or their spouse could engage in non-church employment to supplement their income.

Compensation Package: A monthly salary which includes housing, medical insurance, taxes, retirement and other related expenditures. Other compensation: Approved mileage reimbursement @ IRS rate. Annual Conference/Event allowance. Reimbursement for other allowable and approved expenses.
