Position: NORTHLAND CHURCH WORSHIP PASTOR
Reports to Lead Pastor/Executive Pastor
Status: Full-time Exempt
Position Summary:
Northland Church is seeking a Worship Pastor/Director* to join our staff team to help fulfill our vision of
Engaging people to be fully alive in Jesus, by cultivating an environment in which people are encouraged and equipped in their all-of-life response to the worth of who God is and what He does. As we begin this new season for Northland as a church as
well as a worshipping community, the Worship Pastor/Director will help shape the new day by leading and facilitating the collaborative process of creating, planning and implementing impactful, experiential and authentic worship. He/She will work with Pastoral,
Worship, Production and Creative Staff regarding leadership, ministry goals, budgeting, organizational and administrative processes. In this role, the Worship Pastor/Director is responsible for prayerfully serving, leading and shepherding those who serve in
our Worship department.

Responsibilities—Worship Service:
- Architect worship services in corroboration with the Lead Pastor and/or preaching team and worship team.
- Facilitate the collaborative design of all elements of the weekend experience
under the leadership of the Lead Pastor, alongside the worship and communications teams.
- Promote a multigenerational and multicultural worship atmosphere through music selection, spoken transitions and liturgical moments, and other creative means to engage the congregation.
- Able to partner and collaborate with all areas of production; including audio, lighting, presentation slides, service management, equipment maintenance and online presentation.
- Develop evaluation criteria for weekend worship experience using lenses such as story, vibrancy, authenticity, community, orthodoxy, intimacy, historicity, etc.
- Cultivate a balance between authenticity and excellence in the worship teams’ planning and execution of our corporate worship experience.
Responsibilities—Worships Teams:
- Lead, empower and encourage instrumentalists, vocalists, worship leaders and production team members.
- Shepherd staff and volunteers serving with the band and production teams.
Responsibilities—Additional:
- Work alongside the Lead Pastor and preaching team in the ideation of long-term planning of worship that will be aligned with sermon series content.
- Attend regular meetings with leadership teams.
- Lead worship for special services as needed.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for 6-8 hour periods.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years experience leading in a medium or large sized church.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; emphasis in theology, biblical studies or music preferred.
- Music training and/or experience required.
