Worship Pastor/Oregon City Christian Church
Oregon City Christian Church is seeking a full-time worship pastor to enhance our Worship Ministry. We are a growing community church that thrives on relationships, authentic worship, and transforming lives in the name of Christ.
Oregon City Christian is a large church in the suburbs of Portland Oregon. OCC is a warm and welcoming church with a family feel. We highly value creative biblical teaching, authenticity, relationships, and grace. Any candidate would need to highly relational
and flexible. We are looking for someone who can help us enter God's throne through worship and creative arts, but also knows when to get out of the way and let God shine.
The Worship Pastor is under the leadership of the Director of Worship.
Qualifications Incude:
- Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, with strong spiritual character described in
1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Theology or Worship Arts; OR a minimum of three year’s experience leading worship.
- Have a passion for contemporary worship, music, and the arts, and a desire to lead others into a transforming encounter with God in worship.
- Be a gifted musician, having skill on an instrument normally associated with contemporary worship music in a congregational setting.
- Demonstrate ability to teach and train developing musicians.
- Have good communication skills to work with, and nurture, other musicians and volunteers working in a variety of areas, with a variety of skill levels.
Responsibilities Include:
- Design worship services, in line with the vision of the Lead Pastor.
- Lead in the rehearsal of musicians, and implementation of worship at services.
- Research and manage resources available for the growth of the ministry.
- Help coordinate special services.
- Help coordinate special large-scale events, in cooperation with other ministries.
- Build worship teams, creative arts teams, various choirs, and other related worship ministry teams.
- Help in guiding the Media and Communications Ministry as it pertains to various worship service and creative elements.
- Help create and maintain stage designs.
- Maintain lighting, equipment, and decor in the worship center and lobby. Oversee repairs, upgrades, or installation of new equipment pertinent to the worship experience.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and connect volunteers with appropriate service and growth opportunities within worship (i.e. worship team, youth worship, children’s music, etc.)
- Attend one worship service a weekend, and serve at one worship service a weekend, outside of specified work hours.
- Coach individuals and make disciples of Christ.
- Be open to other activities and responsibilities as they are needed to fulfill the vision of OCC.
