The Youth Pastor provides direct oversight of the high school and middle school ministries of OCEC. Success in this position requires a builder with strong conviction and creativity for empowering and discipling students. The Youth Pastor must demonstrate the ability to inspire, train, and build a strong network of students, student leaders, lay leaders, and parents. Creativity and passionate perseverance for reaching unreached students is a must. Must be a strong communicator, relational, and must have a heart for discipleship. Bachelor degree is required, masters degree related to ministry or theology is preferred but not required.
Oregon City Evangelical Church is a growing suburban church roughly consisting of 250-300 regular attenders/members. Our church is over 125 years old and while we have a rich history we are looking ahead to an even more promising future. Our church is in the midst of an exciting time of renewal as we are seeking to live out a new vision and to completely restructure the way we reach people and minister to them. OCEC believes strongly that every member plays a vital role in God’s kingdom work, and desires to equip every believer to live in community on mission for Jesus in their everyday lives. Above all things, we are in process. As God works in the life of our church, who we are is ever-changing. But so far we are changed. We all have different stories but we all share one thing in common, we are being transformed by Jesus.
