Emmanuel Church is searching for a Campus Pastor to oversee the growth and life of our Banta Campus located on the south side of Indianapolis. We are one church with multiple locations, relentlessly pursuing others to come to Christ and to grow in Christ.
Campus pastor will work under the direction of the Senior Leadership Team while reporting to the Executive Pastor of Multi-sites directly in order to launch/lead, establish, and develop the local campus. The campus pastor holds the primary responsibility
for developing the campus in numeric and spiritual growth and to lead the local campus toward the vision of Emmanuel Church. The campus pastor should be entrenched in the fabric of the community in order to create thriving partnerships between Emmanuel Church
and the local community.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and implement a strategic ministry plan in conjunction with the Executive Director of Multi-sites conducive to your campus with both spiritual and quantitative growth in mind.
- Design and maintain an effective organizational staff structure for your campus team.
- Evaluate every environment through the lens of excellence for the audience that will be engaging in each (Host Team environments, Family Ministry environments, etc.)
- Actively pursue participation in the local community around your campus to create strong partnerships. Seek regular opportunities for your campus to engage with organizations and individuals outside of the context of weekend services.
- Provide campus staff with ongoing training, encouragement, and feedback to ensure continuous improvement. Campus departments that will be under the influence of the campus pastor but not the direct professional expertise of the campus pastor include:
- Children's Ministries
- Host Team
- Facilities
- Front office staff
- Weekend Services
- Impact Team
- As all teams are centralized, the campus pastor will offer regular encouragement to staff and volunteers as well as ideas to improve the overall experience and engagement for those attending. The Campus Pastor is to exhibit a Christ-like servant-minded
leadership at all times.
- Groups: The campus pastor is responsible for all aspects of small groups at the campus. This includes regular and systematic group leader training, group multiplication and the collection of feedback from participants and leaders to ensure that group materials
are hitting the mark. The campus pastor will work closely with the entire spiritual growth team to create relevant and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all participants and moving them to become active participants in both the vision of Emmanuel
Church and in their homes and workplaces.
- Growth Track/Starting Point: In conjunction with the Connections Director and Starting Point Director, the campus pastor is responsible for partnering in the facilitation of the Emmanuel Growth Track at the campus. This will include oversight of each class
to maintain excellence in environment and facilitation. This partnership includes the identification of high-energy and engaging leaders.
- Pastoral Care: Having genuine care and concern for those in your campus. Being present to meet the needs of those at your campus as they navigate life. This can be done individually as well as in partnership with other staff members on your team.
Campus Staff Administration
- Attend all staff meetings.
- Consistently meet with employees in your care to develop them in their current role and to support them in areas where they struggle.
- Establish and maintain regular and approved office hours.
- Work closely with the appropriate ministry directors to develop all areas of and fully staff the campus.
- Maintain the budget for the campus and work closely with finance department and SLT to develop budgets on an annual basis.
- Continue your own personal development through daily quiet time, podcasts, books and conferences (when offered).
- All other administrative tasks as assigned.
Job Skills and Requirements:
- The desire and ability to carry and live out the vision of Emmanuel Church
- One year of experience in a management or leadership position with a proven history of growth
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational/administrative skills
- Self-motivated and flexible
- Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality as appropriate
