Assist Senior Pastor by focusing on new member and volunteer assimilation, retention and supervising volunteer staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
GENERAL
Pray for Senior Pastor, ministerial and administrative staff and Church family.
Support the financial obligations of the church through tithe and offerings.
Be early and prepared for all scheduled meetings.
Must establish and foster exemplary relationships with staff, elders, deacons, leaders, volunteers, church membership, and community at large.
Must exemplify behaviors that fit into the church and administrative cultures that include the four Cs (culture, competency, chemistry, character).
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor, Co-Pastor and Elders.
ASSIMILATION DUTIES
Oversees the development of our assimilation system and processes to ensure all visitors and new members receive love and hospitality according to Have Life standards.
o 1st and 2nd time visitors
o New member intake
o New member’s ministry
o New member’s orientation
Oversee the New Member Ministry (intake, in-reach components, new member’s orientation)
Ensure new members and visitor’s information is input into church database, create and send written correspondence, make phone calls and send emails.
Develop innovative ways to connect with our new members and ensure the sheep are not lost or disconnected.
VOLUNTEER SUPERVISION DUTIES
Responsible for leading the effort to resource the church with volunteers.
o Identify areas needing volunteers
o Developing overall recruitment efforts for volunteers
o Recruit volunteers
o Oversee ministry intake process (gift/personality assessments, ministry recommendations, ministry interest forms, ministry specific orientation)
o Serve as liaison for volunteers that graduate during the ministry fair
o Notify ministry leaders of new volunteers’ interest
o Ensure leaders follow up with volunteers in designated time frame for training and scheduling.
Update new members profile in Church database with completion of new members course and which ministries they selected
Provide training and technique enhancement sessions.
Monitor volunteer services during service times.
Supervise all volunteer staff
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
Requires a bachelor's degree with experience in the field.
Demonstrates expertise and resourcefulness in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks.
Leads and directs the work of others.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Must possess the following skills: strategic planning, verbal and written communication, motivation, customer service, conflict resolution, multitasking, and project management.
Must demonstrate the ability to receive instruction, interpret it, develop a plan of action, and communicate to necessary parties.
Must be a self-motivated person who is able to be effective when working independently without supervision and produce results.
Should have a heart for knowing God personally, for following Christ as a servant, and for keeping in step with the Spirit.
Should have a burden to see Have Life Church fulfill God’s plan as it continues to expand and minister in the Charlotte area.
As a leader and example to the congregation, the staff member should live a life of integrity in growing conformity to the standards of spiritual leadership set forth in Scripture (I Timothy 3:1-7).
Must possess a gentle and humble spirit and be willing to grow and be taught.
Must not have any authority issues or conflicts with loving Christian critique.
Self-discipline regarding personal time usage, and spiritual, physical and emotional health.
A Christian in full agreement with Have Life Church’s statements of belief; willingness and ability to serve Christ and His church.
