Minister of Music

Great Bridge Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Minister of Music.  Great Bridge Baptist Church is a theologically conservative Southern Baptist Church affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) and the Norfolk Area Baptist Association (NABA).

Our average Sunday morning attendance is 750.  We are a community church, with more than 75% of our members residing within a travel time of 10 minutes.  Our Sunday service is a “blended” worship style.  Congregational singing ranges from hymns to contemporary choruses, led by a choir and orchestra, and our special music includes vocal and instrumental solos of all varieties, a contemporary ensemble, and a youth creative movement team. Great Bridge Baptist Church has a significant impact on our community and the desire and potential to further that reach locally as well as participate in Kingdom work throughout the world. We believe the future is bright at GBBC! 

The ideal candidate possesses the following qualities and skills:

• Have a passion for worship and a vibrant prayer life and personal Bible time walking with the Lord.
• Personal integrity and self-motivation in the fulfillment of ministry.
• Experience in leading a growing choir and orchestra.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Musically gifted and trained to use instrumentation in leading the worship service while having a good appreciation and understanding of church music.
• A growing theology and practice of Christ-centered worship.
• A minister’s heart with good personal skills.
