Worship Pastor

South Park Baptist Church in Alvin, TX is looking for a Worship Pastor to join our staff. The successful Worship Pastor will be self-motivated and a proactive leader who is comfortable with a high level of involvement. It is expected that they will have 3-5 years of progressively responsible ministry and worship leadership experience. The new Worship Pastor must be flexible and entrepreneurial, passionate in their role, and be able to connect and lead with the Pastoral Team. They must have both the musical, technical, and vocal ability to lead Worship effectively as well as possess the ability to develop other musical and worship leaders and celebrate their growth.

Principle Function: The Worship Pastor is accountable to the Senior Pastor for the development and oversight of the music ministry. This is a full-time, exempt position.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a vibrant daily relationship with Jesus Christ.

2. Co-lead with the Senior Pastor in the development of a path to vibrant relevant blended worship service on Sundays.

3. Plan, coordinate and lead or enlist leadership over a Worship Team that includes Praise Singers and a Worship Band.

4. Work with the Sound/Video Team to insure excellence and precision in all aspects of worship.

5. Direct the Sanctuary Choir ministry.

6. Supervise the church instrumentalists.

7. Oversee and work with volunteers in other areas of South Park’s music ministry (Bell Choir, Senior Adult Choir, and Children’s Choirs).

8. Responsible for the development of the worship and music budget.

9. Assist as needed in the planning of music for weddings, funerals, special projects, ministries and other church related activities.

10. Maintain the music library, materials, supplies, instruments and other equipment.

11. Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the pastor.
