In the heart of the 2020 pandemic, amidst rising racial and political tensions, Michael and Katie felt a divine calling. In June, they courageously embarked on their “Abraham” journey, relocating to Huntsville, AL without full clarity on God's purpose for them.
However, with steadfast prayer, fasting, and guidance from their mentors, it became evident: They were destined to establish a vibrant, life-giving church in the city. The seeds of The Becoming Church were sown at a simple kitchen table in December 2020. By
March 2021, Michael and Katie began weaving connections across Huntsville, cultivating what would become the church's foundational launch team. These formative days were powered by genuine one-on-one connections and enthusiastic word-of-mouth recommendations.
As the calendar marked February 27, 2022, the Launch Sunday, the growing team of forty-five passionate individuals collaborated in local hotel ballrooms, community clubhouses, and various venues, eagerly preparing for the church's inauguration.
