Bethel Church is a historical, loving, giving and committed Congregation that began in 1854 and is looking for a part time minister who is called by God to serve alongside the Board of Elders and Deacons. This position is to promote growth in relationship with the LORD, with one another, with the lost and the UN-churched in the community. To serve and lead the congregation to grow and serve Christ together.
Experienced in the Ministry of Christ and preaching. Someone who passionately embodies Christ-like character, a great love for Christ and a heart for all people. Effective communication skills including engaging preaching and teaching from the Bible.
Main Responsibilities
•In partnership with the Elders and Deacons, manage and implement the mission and goal of the church.
•Preach all Sunday services except for pre-approved vacations and lead Wednesday Night Bible Study during the Spring and Summer.
•Be personally involved in providing pastoral care (visit members, shut-ins, nursing home, etc.) to the congregation, but is not expected to be the sole provider.
•Provide a regular update to the Elders and Deacons concerning contacts, activities, issues, concerns, and needs at the monthly/quarterly board meeting.
Qualifications and Position Requirements
•Satisfy the Scriptural requirements for a pastor/elder as expressed in 1 Timothy and Titus
•Passionately embodies Christ-like character in daily life.
•Intentional about nurturing his own spiritual life through spiritual disciplines such as prayer, scripture study etc.
•Agreement with Bethel's vision and goals.
•Effective communication skills including engaging preaching and teaching from the Bible.
•Competent in working with volunteers.
•Proficient with creating and executing short and long-term ministry plans.
•Excellent interpersonal skills that show a deep commitment to Christ and His heart for all people
