POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for leading the praise team and the congregation in contemporary worship through music.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads the Praise Team
- Discerns the talent level of the various Praise Team members and ensures that musical selections are consistent with the abilities of the team.
- Organize and lead the Praise Team in rehearsals and in worship services.
- Organizes a rotation of musicians and vocalists
- Recruit new team members and shepherd existing members
Prepares and Leads Music for 9:45am Contemporary Worship Service
- Facilitate a weekly worship experience that is yielded to the Holy Spirit and empowers God’s people to worship God in spirit and in truth
- Stays current on contemporary musical trends.
- Studies and understands the demographics of the congregation.
- Coordinates with the Contemporary Worship Associate Pastor and/orSenior Pastor regarding worship themes.
- Plans music consistent with themes and the liturgical calendar.
- Equipment maintenance

- May be assigned other tasks by the Senior Pastor and/or clergy team
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated experience performing and leading musicians in a contemporary worship setting
- Knowledge of music from a wide variety of styles that are appropriate for Christian worship
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
