Our History:

Central: A Christ-Centered Church was first launched as Central Baptist Church in 1854. Having a central location in the heart of New Jersey gives us endless opportunities to show God’s love to the almost half-million people living within 15 miles of our location. In 2007 we began a significant renovation of our facilities in order to make our facility more accessible, to support youth initiatives, to be more available to the community, and to accommodate increased attendance.  With our strong creative teams, online presence, youth ministry and modern leadership structure, we are excited about how God will use us in the future.

Our Staff and Leadership Structure:

• Board of Overseeing Elders with 6-12 elected members serving staggered 2-year terms including our Lead Pastor Team.
• Our Lead Pastor Team utilizes shared leadership in overseeing the staff and the ministry at Central.
• Each Lead Pastor has unique responsibilities and oversight but also has shared responsibilities such as teaching and pastoral care.
• Finances and annual budget managed by the Director of Operations, the Overseeing Elders, and Financial Treasurer.  The Financial Treasurer is elected by the congregation and church financials are reviewed annually by an outside firm.

Church Characteristics:

We are a church centrally located between Trenton, NJ, Princeton, NJ, Pennington, NJ and Yardley, PA.  We have a very diverse congregation which reflects the area around us.  We are a caring, serving and worshipping collection of God’s creation seeking to grow as followers of Christ and impact the world around us. We enjoy creative and powerful worship in both of our modern services or also in our classic service.  We have developed a robust online presence impacting many across the country and world.   Above all, we seek to put Christ first in all that do, as we believe this ministry is God’s not ours.
