Job Description Overview:
Christ Community Church is seeking a part-time Lead Pastor to continue to provide leadership and Biblical teaching to our growing church. This position is also outreach minded and strives to help our congregation live out our church’s mission statement: “...to be transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to share His Good News with our community and world...”
About Christ Community Church:
Christ Community Church began in 2003 as a small group of believers who shared a passion for planting a new type of church in the community. We began meeting in a home, but soon were blessed with the opportunity to meet in the Peotone High School auditorium. In October of 2005, CCC joined the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), connecting us to a larger movement of likeminded, Gospel centered churches.
Over the next several years we saw God work in big ways! Through amazing generosity and God’s provision, we were able to purchase and renovate a permanent church home in November 2017. We are centrally located in the middle of Peotone. We are a friendly, family- oriented church that is passionate about the mission God has given to us: to be transformed by the Gospel and share His Good News with our surrounding communities.
Since moving into our new church home, our weekly attendance has grown to 120-170 people, with 87 official members. Ministries throughout the week include: AWANA, Youth Group, Men’s Studies, Women’s Studies, and several Life Groups.
Desired Qualifications:
A readily observable follower of Jesus Christ
A relational, gentle, and humble heart in pastoral care and leadership style
Pastoral experience (3+ years) or comparable ministry experience with skills in biblically-
centered preaching and teaching
A seminary degree from an evangelical seminary (preferred); Bible college degree
oriented to pastoral ministry; equivalent First-hand Ministry Experience
Full agreement with the statement of faith of the church, which is the same as that of
the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA)
Full agreement with and accountable to Christ Community Church-Peotone’s Constitution and Bylaws
Been ordained or licensed, and either has those credentials with the EFCA or is willing to pursue ordination credentials with the EFCA
A willingness to make a long-term investment in our church and community
