First Baptist Church of Ledgewood

The First Baptist Church of Ledgewood is located in the suburbs of NJ, approximately 45 miles west of New York City.

 We hold to the Bible as the inerrant Word of God and our source of authority.

With over 80 members, The First Baptist Church of Ledgewood has earned the reputation of being a family church.  This reference to family speaks not only to the fact that we have multi-generational families in the church but also to the close-knit bonds we have built with one another.  Through Bible studies, outreach and fellowship, strong relationships have developed within our church which support the spiritual growth of our members. Understanding that members of the church may be at different points in their spiritual journey, these close bonds allow members to learn from one another and challenge each other in their quest to be obedient to the Word of God.  Both visitors to our church, as well as members who have moved out of the area, have noted that it is this family feel that sets the First Baptist Church of Ledgewood apart from other churches they have visited.  

Job Description:

• We are seeking a full time pastor.  We have had an interim pastor serving for the past 7 months following the retirement of our former pastor (who served 29 years).

Basic Requirements:

• Leadership qualities found in 1 Timothy 3:2-7, Titus 1:6-9, Exodus 18:19-23 and Acts 20:28
• We understand scripture to say the pastor should be male (1 Timothy 2:12 and 3:2-7)
• A clear calling to pastoral ministry
• A deep knowledge and understanding of the Bible
• Experience in ministry leadership
• A Master of Divinity (or related field) from an accredited university or seminary is highly preferred

Salary:

• Commensurate with experience
