About:
Bethel Temple Church was founded in the summer of 1955 with 30 people in a small cinder block building. Over our 60-year history, we have been led by 10 pastors, and have become known as a lighthouse to the community. Throughout the years, Bethel has been one
of the largest churches in the Assemblies of God, become known for our local and international missions, our powerful praise and worship, and our multicultural congregation. We currently have a campus that includes a 1,891-seat worship center, a multi-purpose
life center, a modernized children’s center, an accredited Bible college and college library, and a Spanish congregation. The majority of our congregants (58%) has attended Bethel over 15 years, and portrays a strong spiritual background (68% saved/born again
15+ years, 93% water baptized, 53% Holy Spirit baptized). The additional make up of our local Body is 67% women, 33% men; most are married (53%) with no children in the home (63%), and have completed a higher education degree (68%). For almost 40 years, Bethel
has had the distinct title of being one of the first multi-cultural and racially diverse congregations in this area. We consist of people from all economic, social, cultural, and racial backgrounds. Our multicultural (78% black, 12% white, 10% other), mutigenerational
(58% age 40-60+ and 22% age 18-39) congregants have many differences, but share one thing in common – our love for Jesus Christ and serving God’s church, His people, and the community. We are seeking a senior pastor who will not only build on Bethel’s heritage
and strong foundation, but will lead us to continue to be a lighthouse to this community and the world. Please download the pastor information form and job description; complete them, and email them to the Bethel Church Pastor Search Committee at btcpastorsearch@betheltemple.com.
